*****This little pot is a work of art–fine workmanship and beautiful to look at and wash. I recently got rid of my microwave, and thus needed something to heat up my coffee with–so I wanted a small pot. I hesitated to pay so much, especially when the handle could get hot. This little pot is WORTH the money I paid for it (with tax almost $40) and I am going to buy another one to hold in reserve for when this one wears out. It is sweet, incredible, beautiful, and I don’t miss my microwave one bit if I have something like this to use instead.Some reviewers said that handle got hot and others said it did not. This is because it would depend upon what you were doing with it and where on the stove you had it. For example, on a small burner, for a short time (as in heating up coffee), with the handle hanging over the stove and not the burner, the handle will not heat up. If you leave it on any burner for a long time, and/or it is full, and/or if it is on a larger burner (not recommended), the handle probably will heat up. The manufacturer recommends using a pot holder always. I love the pot so much I don’t care about that, now that I’ve used it and see how incredible it is.I would only use this for small jobs (like reheating coffee) and baby it, because I want it to last. Plus it isn’t the best thing to use for heating up lots of vegetables or browning meat or things like that. For me, it’s a happy part of my daily ritual now, and I’ll use it also for heating soy milk and almond milk and things like that–basically a milk pot. I want to keep it looking nice.It can go in the dishwasher, but it is not recommended as it can be scratched by the detergent. Mine will never see a dishwasher, as I’ll wash it out by hand, again, to keep it sparkling and pretty. The finish is gorgeous. This is a luxury milk pot for me, and as you can tell, I’m thrilled with it!Highly recommended.*****
