Here’s my review of these wax seals – and I can’t provide much of a review since this is the only wax seal product I’ve used but they worked very well for us.Using the cheapest mini glue gun we could find, we were able to get 60-65 wax seals from each box using a 1″ wax seal stamp. We chose to put them on wax paper first so that we could transfer them to our wedding invitations later. This allowed us to make mistakes without messing up invitations – although we didn’t make many mistakes so that was good. Our method was one person on the glue gun and the other on the stamp. The glue gun took 3 full pumps to get the right amount of wax down on the wax paper (more pumps needed if you couldn’t get full pumps – cheap glue gun remember), and then the person with the stamp would keep the head of the wax stamp in some ice water until the wax was pumped on to the wax paper. To do the stamp, I would wipe the water off the stamp head with a paper town and then press the stamp head slowly into the liquid wax, moving it around a little until I had an even ring of extra wax around the stamp head, and then I would press down gently. Let the stamp head sit there for 10 seconds or so for the wax to harden enough and the stamp head would pull out of the stamp pretty easily. If I had to force it, I knew the seal wasn’t ready yet. This seemed to work really well – making sure to get the stamp head back in the ice water for a few seconds before it was ready to press the next stamp. I’m not sure if that really made a difference or not, but that’s what we did. Also was handy to have a spare paper towel to dab the tip of the glue gun as excess wax would ooze out a little. To get the wax seals off the wax paper – I used a hair dryer on the low heat setting to heat up the back side of the wax seal and then they would peel off the wax paper.Overall this was way easier and faster than I thought it was going to be, especially for not ever having done it before. A would recommend and would do it again. I think it helped having two people do it, and I didn’t have any problems with the glue gun heating up too much like others said they did. Hopefully this helps!
