They are decent for the price. If you are like me and you find yourself needing peat pots to facilitate your dreams – but you can’t afford the good stuff – these will certainly suffice. I just transferred some morning glory seedling peat cells into these pots and I’m currently transferring some perennials from plastic cells to the peat pots. I can’t speak to how well the roots will grow through the pots yet, I’ll update this review when that times comes.I didn’t subtract a star because of the pot material or etc – I knew what I was getting myself into here. I subtracted one star because of the smell. They smell like… old milk? This is exactly, to the T, what they smell like: have you ever absent mindedly parked a cup of coffee (with cream/milk) on some out of the way shelf and forgotten about it? And then X amount of days go by and you smell that gross moldy old rotting coffee cup smell? … Oh heh… I mean, me either yuck… No but yes, that’s what these little pots smell like. So much so that when I first started potting up my morning glories I stopped what I was doing twice to walk around sniffing the air trying to figure out what dusty corner last months coffee was marinating in.Fingers crossed that the smell dissipates. If it doesn’t… atleast last frost is only 2 weeks away I guessFinal answer? They are cheap, on-a-tight-budget, not actually made of peat, smelly, sturdy, functional little pots that get the job done. If you are NOT on a tight budget and you are looking to do things correct, with all the best stuff? Don’t buy these onesOh yea, in the second photo I ripped the pots to be shorter – they didn’t come ripped like that
